Scripture Master List: The importance of the Word of God / Torah, to King David

rabbi_jay_holds_the_torahPsalm 16:7 I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.

which dovetails with:
Psalm 63:6 I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.
and
119:97 Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.

Psalm 27:4 The one thing I ask of the LORD—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.

Psalm 40:6-8 You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings.   (Cross reference Psalm 61:16-19)
Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand—
you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings.
Then I said, “Look, I have come.
As is written about me in the Scriptures:
I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart.”

Psalm 56:10 I praise God for what he has promised;
yes, I praise the LORD for what he has promised.

Psalm 62:11 God has spoken plainly,
and I have heard it many times:
Power, O God, belongs to you;

Psalm 119:91-92  (thought to belong to David, because the wording matches his style)

Your regulations remain true to this day,
for everything serves your plans.
If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy,
I would have died in my misery.

Psalm 119:54 Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.

Psalm 119:71-71 My suffering was good for me,
for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
Your instructions are more valuable to me
than millions in gold and silver.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path.

Psalm 119:143-144 As pressure and stress bear down on me,
I find joy in your commands.
Your laws are always right;
help me to understand them so I may live.

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me the right path, O LORD;
point out the road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.

Psalm 32:8-9 The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”

Psalm 86:11 Teach me your ways, O LORD,
that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart,
so that I may honour you.
